GATSBY CH-4 NOTES

Chapter four begins with an interesting list of names and it's a list of names that usually go to Gatsby's parties. While I was reading the chapter I could notice that Fitzgerald is trying to distinguish two different kinds of people. I one hand the names from the East Egg that sound more old and historical, I believe that those are the old-money. On the other hand that names from the West Egg the common names.
Why Fitzgerald describe those names so differently?
When Nicks is taking out with Gatsby to New York City where he finally talks about himself, he told         Nick that he doesn't want to get him a wrong idea about all the stories that he hears about him. Gatsby told Nick that he was the son of wealthy people in the middle-west but they all are dead now. Also he said I brought up in America but educated at Oxford because all
my ancestors have been educated there for many years. It is
a family tradition. Nick asks what part of the mid-west, Gatsby said  San Fransisco, he knew Gatbsy was lying because San Fransisco isn't in the mid-west.
Nick has tea with  Ms. Baker, she told Nick the whole story about Gatsby and Daisy how and they met. Also, Ms. baker told Nick about Gatsby's plans she said that he wants to see Daysi at Nick's house because ist next door at his house.
I think Gatsby begins to talk with Nick because he was close to Daysi.
