After Gatsby's death, Nick attempts to call Daysi but she never answered the phone. Nick just wanted to let her know about Gatsby's death. They had gone and left no address nor information or when the would-be back. When Tom and Daysi were living Mr. Wilson came to the door with a revolver in his pocket.
Tom told Wilson that the person who owned the car was Gatsby.
Nick sees want thing real about Gatsby, he saw all that loved she had for Daysi. That's why he trusted him.
