I wonder what Gatsby thought at the moment that Nick didn't accept all that he offers a better position in his job and a lot of stuff just to invite Daysi for a cup of tea. I imagine that he offered all that to Nick because he thought that he was interested in his money like the others but he realizes that Nick was a real friend.
